The original author, "Mackoy" in Japan had a fairly decent audience in the early years when it was for Windows ONLY. Linux, OSX and even our KNOS product end up having to run it on MONO and VALA libraries instead of Microsoft's and both of those are incomplete owing to patent issues.īut OpenBVE was somebody's hobby activity and is as good as it gets unless there's resources available to pick up the ball and run with it some more. The EMULATION for dotNET on other platforms is shaky at best. The problem is that BVE (and OpenBVE) are written in Microsoft "dotNET" and other Microsoft stuff.
